COBRA / BMW RNINET
DO IT WITH PASSION OR NOT AT ALL
2019 – Before we launched our BMW RNineT Caferacer 'Cobra' we built a clay model that was shown off at the Allride Show in Prague, late in 2019.
Then we moved to 3D CAD software and spending months refining every detail, before finally starting work on this prototype.
TRANSFORM A A MUSCULAR ROADSTER INTO A SINISTER CAFE RACER
Giving the tank area its actual form and the function as a bolt-on tank cover was quite challenging. The design is aggressive, with knee indents keeping the rider’s space narrow, and cutouts to reveal the powder-coated fuel cell below.
Aluminum side panels carry the lines further down, while also helping to tuck away the modern Beemer’s electronics.
Another very complex design concept for a BMW RNineT. Often lines and ideas were discarded and redefined. After the sketches and the design language were defined, the whole concept was implemented as a clay model. Here we could test all lines and view them from all sides. We worked on the concept and design for 6 months before the first parts were implemented in CAD and 3D.
The result of this challenging work is a Caferacer distinguishes a sleek yet aggressive stance with a red touch.
